ORGANIZATIONS
The Catch Conservation Fund works closely with nonprofit organizations dedicated to protecting sea turtles in the Eastern Tropical Pacific:

PRETOMA (Programa Restauracion de Tortugas Marinas) is a Costa Rican nonprofit NGO founded in 1997. The group is a marine conservation and research organization working to protect ocean resources and promote sustainable fisheries policies in Costa Rica and Central America. A Costa Rican Civil Association of Public Interest, PRETOMA is an active member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). For more information, visit www.pretoma.org.

TIRN (Turtle Island Restoration Network) manages The Sea Turtle Restoration Project, an initiative founded in 1989 to protect endangered sea turtles in ways that make cultural and economic sense to communities that share the beaches and waters with these gentle creatures. STRP views the sea turtles’ dilemma not only as a single-species environmental tragedy that needs immediate attention, but also as a vehicle for shifting the paradigm of how the human species views its relationship with the natural world. CIMAD (Centre for Research into Environmental Management and Development) is a Colombian based nonprofit organization undertaking conservation research and promoting environmental management policies for sustainable development in the Latin American region. It conducts biological and social research addressing natural resource management and policy planning concerns, and combines conservation with the needs of local communities for sustainable Colombian and Latin American biodiversity.
